Doors doors and even more doors!
My last job of 2016 was hanging a lot of oak doors for a customer in Stannington. All finished and looking great, waiting for a few coats of Danish oil. Here’s a couple of photos of some the doors. Happy Christmas everyone and all the best for the New Year.
Shelving Galore!
There’s been a lot of shelving and cupboards going on recently. Ranging from floating shelves, bookcases, bookcase extensions and cupboards. All very splendid and smart, just a lick of paint and they will look great.
A Sedum Roof
An unusual job for me to lay a sedum roof but it followed on from the rest of the work so it seemed to make sense. Starting with building a new flat roof over the existing double garage and shipping container. Then the EPDM rubber roof went on followed by the drainage layer, aggregate then […]
Bespoke solid oak 30’s style door
This is a small bespoke oak door made and fitted to an under stair toilet. Next the door and frame will be French polished to match the old panelling in the entrance hall. All looking very nice.
Cabin Bed
Here’s a nice cabin bed or high sleeper I made for a customers daughter in Benton. Not much space in the room with the stair bulkhead so it seemed like the best option. Desk to go underneath and a wardrobe at the end. Also stepped bookshelves built onto the stair bulkhead to maximise the usable space. […]
New Pergola in Gosforth
A lovely sunny day to build a pergola in Gosforth, I was matching it to the existing hardwood slatted screening and fitting it around the raised beds and bamboo. I think it looks great.
New Ikea Kitchen
Just putting the finishing touches to this Ikea Kitchen fitted in Gosforth. Just the granite worktops and appliances to finish off and it looks amazing. I like the rail fix system Ikea use now as it makes fitting and levelling the units very easy. Base units clip onto a metal rail, the front feet are […]
Oak veneered floating shelves.
Fitted some lovely oak veneered floating shelves in North Shields. The bottom shelf had to take the weight of a pair of speakers, an amplifier and CD player so had to be beefed up with some steel angle, all hidden inside the shelf construction.
Bungalow Refurbishment
I’ve been working in Stamfordham for a couple of weeks refurbishing a bungalow for a customer who is retiring back to the area from abroad. The job involves moving stud walls around to change the general layout, making a couple of bedrooms bigger and opening up the living and dining rooms. Also fitting a new […]
Lovely fitted cupboards and shelving
Here is an picture of some fitted cupboards and shelving recently completed in Gosforth.
